I’m in Košice, Slovakia this week for work. I travel there once per month, and I really enjoy working with the people there. Nothing against Czechs, but the Slovaks are more open and warmer. And the food is amazing. I usually stay at the Hilton Garden Inn, but they were completely booked this time around. So the company put me up in the Yasmin Hotel. It’s not quite as nice as the Hilton but closer to our Slovak office.
I was a little put off this morning at breakfast. First of all, the “warm” part of their breakfast buffet consists of lukewarm runny scrambled eggs, sausages, and other difficult to identify items. BY the time you get your eggs to your table, they are completely cold. Also, by 8 am they had roped off half the dining room (for some unknown reason), directing guests to the other half which was full. I had to wait for a table to free up, standing there with coffee in one hand and cold eggs in the other. I’ll be sure to mention this when I write my review of the hotel.
