English title: English for Railway Employees
By James Branam
In 1997, I was asked by Fragment to write an English language textbook for employees of Czech Railways. This project appealed to me because when I was a child my grandfather was a train engineer. (He even took me with him a couple of times, and believe me, sitting in the engine of a freight train traveling down the track at high speeds is any young boy’s dream come true.)
The book took about 10 months to write, and I enjoyed writing. I included situations that might affect various types of employees, from conductors to janitors.
